Mathilda – Leon the Professional print. 
 
Mathilda is inspired from the cult hit man movie Leon the Professional from 1994 - directed by Luc Besson.
Mathilda is a two dimensional pop art/ appropriation art piece, in keeping with a 90’s theme and the Italian and New York styling to establish the essence of the mafia style/ hitman/ assassin movie.
Mathildha’s portrait consists of a charcoal drawing, with her skin tones being revealed in the wood grains beneath. Digitally heat transferred collage snippets were then used from the film to highlight the mood of the 90’s mafia style movie.
 
 
 
Audrey Hepburn – Rose Gold

This beautiful portrait references one of the most the iconic photographs of Audrey Hepburn at Paramount Studios in 1953.
 
The portrait was initially illustrated with charcoal and pastels onto a gesso primed wood panel., with a mix of subtle pink roses and newspaper print perfectly compliment the timeless classic image. Contrasting tones are visualised into thisportrait of Audrey in graduating tones of turquoise soft pastel blend into the gold leaf background, to create a shabby chic finish.
